At the Dancing Sail Banquet Room of the Eastside Restaurant, on December 17, 2019, the first part of a two-part Event of “The Kingdom’s Got Talent?” was a Huge Success! The place was filled beyond capacity where people, coming late, were turned away. The nine (9) acts that auditioned were all good and a decision about who goes onto the next part, The Talent Show, in February, will be determined soon.
The success of this Event was due in large part, to the Sponsors. They are the ones that pay the bills in producing these Events. Because of that, all the money taken that night goes directly to Joshua House Inc. here in Northern Vermont.
The entrance was a $20 donation and $15 donation from the auditioning talent. There was a Raffle which raised $262.50 and a live Auction. Heart-felt thanks to Omer Bousquet (former Joshua House Inc. board member) who stepped up as Auctioneer, to help raised over $500. The items donated for the auction came from Madame Archetypes Panoply, Sue Kelley-Harkey, The Warehouse, Steve and Brooke Wright, 802chenille, and me (Tim Daley). With all things combined, the evening raised $2,500.00 and $2,000.00 of it will be matched by Modern Woodmen Insurance, bringing that total to $4,500.00!
Not wanting to go on too long (because you know I do and I think I have!), I just want to say again, THANKS to everyone that made this possible. In addition to Deb and Faith of the United Church who were at the door, and Colleen who started the Raffle going, Michael Hahn needs to be thanked. The evening would not have been as wonderful, if he had not provided the sound system and worked with the talent. Thanks also to Todd Pronto of NEK TV for filming all of it and to Sarah Comtois Smith and (Pastor) James Merriam for judging the Event.
